Our choice of manufacturing partners and suppliers is one of the most important ways that we can control the impact of our clothing. Our choices are based upon our sustainability and performance requirements, factory visits, developing close relationships with the company owners and workers, and careful sampling which allows us to test our decisions.
Carbon Footprint and Ethics
We have chosen to manufacture our sportswear in the UK and Europe. This keeps our supply chains short to reduce emissions and enables us to build closer, more transparent, relationships. Our key manufacturing partner uses 100% renewable energy to make our garments and we choose to work with organisations across our supply chain that share our values on sustainability, workers-rights and ethics.
All of our European manufacturing partners are required to sign our Presca Code of Conduct by the end of 2020.
The only exception to our local manufacture policy is for our leisurewear garments (such as t-shirts and hoodies) which are manufactured in factories in India, Turkey and Bangladesh and which are accredited by the Fairwear Foundation.
We have invested a lot of time, money and energy into finding the right suppliers for everything from our office supplies, to zips, fabrics and manufacturing partners. We know that the end product will only be as good as the weakest link and so we work hard to find suppliers with the best technology and skillsets, through process design, through strict quality control and rigorous attention to detail. The biggest impact we can have is through making clothes that last, so that you don’t need to buy new kit so often. We want to make clothing that you love and that will stand the test of time.
